Brígida Brito is Associate Professor and Deputy Director of the Department of International Relations at the Universidade Autónoma de Lisboa (Portugal). Coordinator of the Master’s Degree in International Relations, Deputy Director of OBSERVARE and Editor-in-Chief of JANUS NET, e-journal of International Relations. Researcher at IPRI-Nova. Sociologist with a PhD and a Master’s degree in African Studies, having completed postdoctoral research at the Centre for African Studies, ISCTE-IUL, on environmental education in African islands. For over twenty years, she has been providing consultancy services for international cooperation projects in Africa in the socio-environmental field, including for the World Bank Group, non-governmental organisations and projects funded by the European Commission.

Jesper Pedersen is a Danish marine engineer, researcher, and entrepreneur who serves as the CEO, founder, and sole owner of JP Climate C ApS. : He has an extensive background in engineering and green technology, previously serving as the CEO of InnoChiller ApS and as a project engineer for Ramboll. Pedersen holds a Bachelor of Technology Management and specializes in geoengineering and cooling interventions. His work through JP ClimaTec focuses on Climate Cooling Intervention projects designed to counteract global warming.

Rising temperatures, changing precipitation patterns, and more frequent extreme weather events are disrupting crop growth cycles, reducing yields, and threatening food security. As these challenges intensify, addressing climate change impacts on agricultural resilience becomes increasingly crucial and highlights the importance of innovative strategies to strengthen both resilience and sustainability. This study examined the livelihood assets and adaptation strategies that influence agricultural resilience in Europe through a meta-analysis of 43 original papers (1990–2024). The results show that sustainable and climate-resilient agriculture in Europe is significantly shaped by the availability and quality of livelihood assets—particularly natural assets—which exert a strong influence on agricultural resilience through the lens of economic sustainability. These natural assets not only underpin ecological stability but also provide critical economic value, thereby enhancing the sustainability and resilience of agricultural systems. Furthermore, the analysis of spatiotemporal dynamics revealed that temporal factors have a negative and statistically significant effect on socially and economically sustainable agriculture, underscoring the vulnerability of agricultural systems to time-based changes and uncertainties. Strengthening livelihood assets therefore emerges as a strategic pathway to enhance competitiveness, foster innovation, and ensure a stable supply of essential agricultural resources. Accordingly, the study emphasizes that focusing exclusively on social assets is insufficient for achieving economic sustainability in agriculture. Instead, a more integrated approach—centered on reinforcing natural and other forms of livelihood assets—is imperative for enhancing agricultural resilience and supporting the broader goals of sustainable development across Europe.

Ameer Ahmed Mohammed Ameer is a Civil Engineer specializing in Hydrology and Water Resources, with experience in hydrological studies, rainfall-runoff analysis, evaporation and sedimentation assessment, hydraulic evaluations, dam engineering, and technical documentation. He has supported hydraulic and geotechnical design activities, feasibility studies, quantity take-offs, cost estimates, engineering drawings, and technical reports, particularly for the Wadi Mawr Dam Project.

He also has experience in construction supervision, fit-out, maintenance, quality control, contractor coordination, and site engineering in Saudi Arabia and Yemen. He is skilled in coordinating with clients, consultants, contractors, and project teams while ensuring compliance with drawings, specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements. His professional interests include hydrology, water resources, dams, drainage, infrastructure, and related engineering projects.

Dr. Rajendra Kumar Singh is currently working at the ICAR-Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) in Ambala, Haryana, India. Prior to this role, He was engaged with the Defense Institute of High Altitude Research (DIHAR) in Leh, Ladakh. His research and extension work focus heavily on sustainable agronomics, crop diversification, and climate-resilient farming systems to mitigate severe meteorological aberrations.

Dr. Nivin Abdelmeguid is an environmental, energy, and climate change specialist working at the intersection of energy economics, public policy, and sustainable development. She is an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Economics and Political Science, Cairo University, and holds a PhD in Euro-Mediterranean Studies, specializing in Economics with a focus on energy and environmental economics. She also works as an independent Environmental, Energy & Climate Change Consultant, contributing to national and international projects in renewable energy, climate policy, sustainable finance, and environmental and social performance. Dr. Nivin served as a Lead Author and technical reviewer for Egypt’s First Biennial Transparency Report (BTR1) under the UNFCCC. Her research focuses on energy-system transitions, decarbonization pathways, climate policy, energy and environmental economics. She is also the Editor and a Contributing Author of The Future of the Energy Sector: Innovations for Economic Growth and Sustainability, currently in press with Nova Science Publishers.

Thomas Bézy is an economist at the Paris School of Economics. His research explores inequalities in housing and wealth, with a particular focus on how climate change and environmental risks affect property ownership, insurance coverage, and economic vulnerability.

Kaies SAMET is an Associate Professor of Economics at the Higher Institute of Industrial Management
of Sfax and a researcher at the Development Economics Laboratory (LED) of the Faculty of Economics
and Management of Sfax, Tunisia. He has held a PhD in Economics from the University of Sfax since
2009 and He dedicates his research to financial and technological innovation, transport and logistics
economics, energy transition, environmental sciences (sustainable development, …), institutional
quality, the issue of brain drain and financial economics. His works have been published in several
indexed international journals, including Sustainability (2025), the Journal of Risk and Financial
Management (2025), Asian Economic and Financial Review (2021, 2024), Recherche Transports
Sécurité (2023), International Journal of Economics and Financial Issues (2019), Hommes & Migrations
(2014), and Mondes en développement (2010), as well as in book chapters and international
conference proceedings. He is also an Editorial Board Member of the International Journal of
Innovative Research and Scientific Studies (Scopus Q3, 2024) and Asian Economic and Financial Review
(Scopus Q3, 2024), and a reviewer in « Energy Studies Review » (Scopus Q4, 2024).

Dr Ranjan Upadhyaya who did his doctorate from Vikram University, Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh, started his corporate excellence form National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC), Lucknow, Utter Pradesh. Highly enriched academic career glittered with Rai University from Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh and continued to be in Sri Shankarchary College of Engineering and Technology, Bhilai, and Banasthali University, Jaipur, Rajasthan for eight years. Professor at Universal Business School, Mumbai and Director at Jaipur National University before joining, Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies, (NMIMS) Mumbai, Maharashtra and continued as a Dean – Academic in St Xavier’s, Bangalore, Karnataka. He had many national and international publications of scopus and has attended a large number of national and international conferences and workshops. He is an esteemed member of professional bodies and supervised several scholars for higher studies India and aboard including KPMG. Besides this, his contribution was majorly in chairing academic sessions in IIT’s and IIM’s. His true worthiness excellence came out in form of publications, critical reviews, accepted in Harvard Business Review and many more internationally reputed journals like McGraw-Hill. The corporate - academia interface excellence has been endorsed with his contribution in number of completed and ongoing projects. In his capacity, he has chaired various IEEE conferences for different session in including O.P. Jindal University and in Uzbekistan based Sharda University. Prof. Sharma is a distinguished academician and ESG-certified Environmental Chemist with over 23 years of experience in higher education, research, and environmental sustainability. In her capacity as Professor and Dean at VIPS-TC, she has designed innovative academic frameworks and led pioneering sustainability initiatives that integrate climate action with engineering education in emerging domains. Her leadership effectively bridges environmental research and institutional governance, aligning academic excellence with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
She has organized several international conferences and has an extensive publication record comprising more than 40 papers in SCI/Scopus-indexed journals, multiple book chapters, an authored book, and patents.
